DIY Inspiration: Studs & Embellishments

I'm a big fan of DIY. I actually spent last month hopping from one Michael's to the next, trying to find the right supplies to make some of I Spy DIY's bracelets (so far I've made thisthisthis and this. Plus this ring in necklace form for my sister). And then proceeded to lock myself in my room for a whole day making half a dozen bracelets. I went a little overboard I'd say...

Next on my list? I'm thinking some stud/embellishment action. On everything.

I'm actually headed to the thrift store on Friday with my baby sister. Maybe my first victim will be lurking there, begging to be studded like an amateur.

If you have any recommendation or suggestions, I'd love to hear it! Do you love to DIY? What have you created? Whats on your list to DIY to-do's?

To Do: DIY Glitter Ankle Boots

I'm thinking this little DIY  needs to happen. I don't know what it is but I'm obsessed with glitter, sequins and all things girly recently. Super weird seeing as the last time I checked, I was so very not girly. Eh, gotta roll with the punches.

My inspiration:

Yup. I've defiantly decided. Its happening.

Cheetah Print Pocket DIY

So for Angela's birthday this year, I decided to embrace my creative side and make a shirt I had seen on Alicia's instagram (can be seen worn here). I'm not even going to pretend I'm some kind of master seamstress, so with the help of my grandmother, her sewing machine and a few glasses of red wine, I had a finished product I was genuinely proud of (even though it was super basic and simple. My six year old niece could have probably produced the same thing)

P.S. I obviously had to make one for myself at the same time ;)
Grandma setting up the machine (since its been more than five years since I've used this puppy and I clearly forgot everything I was instructed to do)
Supplies: Fabric, measuring tap, scissors, black shirt, black thread and pins (also an iron, not pictured)
Step 1: Measure and cut the pocket out of your fabric.
Step 2: Fold over the top to create a seam at the (soon to be) opening of the pocket and sew it.
Step 3: Iron over the remaining three seams (makes it easier to pin and sew onto the shirt later)
Step 4: Pin pocket to the shirt in the position desired.
Step 5: Sew the remaining three seams onto the shirt.
Yes, grandma started the first seam for me on the first shirt. I needed some guidance...
Viola! A finished, simple cheetah print shirt.

Mustache Mug

My new love? Making mugs! I made the boys mustache mugs for christmas and made my friend Chris and DJ Bisquick mug (since he is a DJ...and his name is DJ Bisquick...get it?) I found this tutorial while stumbling online and my life will never be the same. Now all I need to do is perfect my mustache drawing skills...
