Turkey Day Recap

I know its a little late for this post, but I'm going to post it anyway...so there! Turkey Day 2011 was nothing short of usual in the Kozo household. I spent the night Wednesday to help Grandma prep and such for the big feast (even though she accomplished 86.4% herself the days before). My brother brought his girlfriend and sadly my sister had to work so she couldn't come (damn you 24 hr gas stations and your preying on poor college students only home for four days from school looking to support their rockstar lifestyle).

The day took its normal course: parents come, move around living room furniture and family members to take the family photo, PopPop carves the turkey, Dad delusions himself into thinking we have hid cameras and he's on man v. food taking down a whole turkey and pan of mashed potatoes, we eat the meal that took two days to prepare in less than ten minutes and wash it down with a bottle (or bottles) of wine, and then start bickering about useless and trivial topics, such as Verizon wireless phone bills, who owes how much each month and explaining to my mom how the iPhone and Verizon have been joined for over a year. Other typical conversations include upcoming elections, Democrats, the Catholic church, football and the relationship status of each of the children (apparently PopPops is going to croak soon and just wants to make sure he is blessed with the opportunity to get drunk at all our weddings and make embarrassing speeches).

Obviously it ended with cake :)
